COVID Information

COVID Precautions

CSMFO is excited to welcome you to the 2022 Annual Conference!  To ensure the safety of our participants and in compliance with California Department of Public Health requirements for large events, all participants must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result.

To streamline the process for onsite registration, CSMFO has contracted with EventScan, a COVID-19 event safety provider to assist with COVID-19 prevention services.  Attendees must provide verification of vaccination or proof of negative test either prior to the conference or onsite.  Please note that onsite testing at the Town & Country Resort is not available.  Local testing sites can be found here and are at your own cost.

If you are vaccinated
Complete the EventScan Pre-Event Verification process to upload your vaccination card and provide all required information.  We appreciate your completing this form prior to your checking in at the conference.  After submitting, you will receive an email from noreply@jotform.com.  Be sure to bring a paper copy of this email or a screenshot of the email to streamline your registration check in at the conference.   (per CDC definition, attendees must be two weeks past the date of their final vaccination to qualify as being fully vaccinated.  Booster shots are not required.)

If you plan to provide a negative COVID-19 test
The test must be conducted within one day for an antigen test and within two days for a PCR test prior to entry into an event. Note that only over the counter tests that provide a documented lab report for review will be accepted. You will need to bring valid identification as well as your negative test on-site.

Onsite Check-in:  COVID-19 Screening and Badge Pickup
Please note, participants must first check in at the verification table prior to attending the CSMFO conference. No attendees will be permitted at any conference session without a conference badge and blue wristband, each provided after verification.

On day one of your conference experience, all participants need to pass the verification table and receive a blue wristband. You will need your blue wristband in order to receive your name badge.  Please wear both items throughout the conference to receive access.

If you have provided verification of vaccine through the portal, please be prepared to show the verification email or screenshot from EventScan on-site. If you fail to be prescreened prior to the conference, you must have a valid ID and your vaccination card,  or a screen shot of the card to be verified on site.

If you have questions or need assistance regarding verification, please reach out to marisa.anticevich@staff.csmfo.org
See you in San Diego!

Mask Update
UPDATE:  We are aware that the current statewide mask mandate for vaccinated individuals expires on February 15th, just as the conference will be getting underway.  Currently San Diego County does not have stricter masking requirements in place, which means that the just released Feb. 15th statewide California Department of Public Health guidance related to masking is likely to apply at the conference.  You can find that guidance here, which only requires unvaccinated individuals to wear masks indoors, but encourages everyone to wear masks in higher risk situations.  As our members come from a wide variety of agencies and communities, we encourage you to do what makes you comfortable at the conference.

CSMFO will be closely monitoring Center for Disease Control (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and local county guidelines as they pertain to in-person events. CSMFO will be communicating possible attendance requirements regularly as we move closer to the event with registered attendees. CSMFO will enforce any federal, state and local guidelines onsite as they pertain to mask wearing, proof of vaccination, negative COVID-19 test and social distancing.

Attendees who do not comply with requirements in place at the time of the conference, will not be allowed admittance. CSMFO also reserves the right to implement health and safety precautions in addition to any official guidelines deemed necessary by the CSMFO Board of Directors that are in the best interest of the attendees. CSMFO is committed to making compliance as easy as possible for attendees via the registration process both on-line and on-site.

To ensure the safety of our participants and in compliance with California Department of Public Health requirements for large events, all participants must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test.

The CDC’s COVID-19 homepage, with links to guidelines, can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.  I understand that the President of the United States, the State of California, and San Diego County have declared emergencies at various times related to COVID-19. I further understand that COVID-19 is an extremely contagious respiratory illness and is believed to be spread by person-to-person contact as well as through the air and surface contact. I understand that if I am not comfortable or cannot agree to execute this Waiver/Release then I may not participate in the CSMFO Conf.

I hereby acknowledge and assume the risk of becoming infected by COVID-19 by being at the CSMFO Conf. In addition, I may need additional care that may require me to go to an emergency room or a hospital. Further still, I acknowledge and assume all economic risks including, but not limited to paying for medical bills, the risk that I may lose income or be incapable of fulfilling my job responsibilities should I become infected.  I also hereby acknowledge and assume the risk that if I am infected with COVID-19, there is a chance that I could transfer and/or infect others with this virus.

I hereby agree to defend and indemnify CSMFO and its past, present and future agents and successors from all legal responsibilities or liabilities related to any claims that I, or anyone I infect, may allege against CSMFO related to allegedly contracting COVID-19 at the CSMFO Conf. I also understand and accept that there is inherent risk from a failure of other participants not following proper COVID-19 protocols, such as maintaining proper social distancing and hygiene measures, and that the COVID-19 precautionary measures being employed by CSMFO as designed and implemented in accordance with applicable regulations may be insufficient to prevent the transmission or contraction of COVID-19 and suffering any related injuries.
