David Teykaerts

David Teykaerts is an Assistant Chief for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), where he oversees communications and outreach to stakeholders on pensions, retirement security, investments, and health care policy. In his nine years with CalPERS, David has worked closely with a wide variety of stakeholders of all levels, including elected officials, professional management representing local governments, labor leaders, school districts, retiree coalitions, and private sector leaders. He oversees CalPERS’ stakeholder communication framework of briefings, roundtables, conferences, events webinars, electronic communications, and educational workshops across the state. He is also the manager of the critical Public Records Act function for the organization, entrusted with fostering a culture of transparency with the public. He brings over 15 years of combined financial and public presentation experience to the role, having worked for the Golden 1 Credit Union in Sacramento as a trainer and project manager before joining CalPERS in 2012.
