Donald Hester is the Cybersecurity Manager for the City of Livermore. Prior to joining Livermore, Donald was a Director at Maze & Associates, consulting on matters related to IT audit and cybersecurity. Donald has taught IT Audit and Forensics at the University of San Francisco and Microsoft courses for Los Positas College, San Diego City College, and for the @One program of the California State Chancellor’s office. Donald is also a Board Member and past Treasurer for the Brentwood Veterans Memorial Building and Commandant and past Treasurer for the Delta Diablo Det. 1155 Marine Corps League. He is a guest lecturer and speaker on security topics for MISAC, PRMA, CJPRMA, League of California Cities, CMTA, CSMFO, CISOA, ISACA, AGA, ACSDA, (ISC)2 and others. He has served on various advisory committees and as a subject matter expert in information technology and cybersecurity. Donald’s certifications include CISSP, CISA, CAP, CRISC, Security+, and CTT+. Donald has a Master’s Degree from Biola University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management from American Military University. Donald is currently pursuing an Master’s in Public Administration from AMU.
